Bethlehem Cancels Christmas

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call his name Immanuel."

Imagine this headline in tomorrows paper: Bethlehem Cancels Christmas. What!, no manger, no shepherds, no angels? How would that make you feel? Let's look at it. There would be no huslte and bustle in the malls, that we could certainly do without. There would be no snow for those who get snow. There would be no parties to attend, no special events of any kind. We would not get to watch as Rockefeller Center lights their Christmas tree, we would not hear the carolers as they entertain in our neighborhoods. There would be no presents under the proverbial tree. Oh my word, what will we ever do without presents? STOP! Even if Christmas, as we know it, were to be cancelled this year, we would still have one perfect gift---Jesus!

Our plans may change, our government may let us down, our families may have problems, but one thing will always be true -- Jesus is our Savior. He will never change. He will never let us down. He will always be "with us", no matter what the problem. Jesus is Christmas! What are you going to do with Jesus this year?
