Christmas Reinstated![]() ![]()
![]() ![]() ![]() The headline reads "Born Again: Bethlehem reinstates Christmas". There is much ado in Bethlehem today. It's not the pretty scene it was the day Jesus was born. In recent days we have seen much bloodshed. Many are mourning the loss of life in this fair city. It has been feared that Bethlehem would not be able to hold her usual Christmas festivities. No Christmas Tree, No church service at the Church of the Nativity in Manger Square, Nothing. But low and behold, today the Mayor decided that Bethlehem is safe and secure for tourists to come and visit the city and the famous cave where, it is believed, the Christ was born. What was Bethelehem like when Mary and Joseph journeyed there? It was bustling with visitors because of the census that was called by Caesar Augustus. There were so many people there at that time that there was no room for Jesus. He was born in a cave behind the inn, now known as Manger Square. Many are afraid to travel to Bethlehem today, because of the turmoil surrounding the city. The leaders say it is safe. Bethlehem is quiet now. There are not many visitors this year. The good people of the City of David want people to visit Manger Square. Why? To increase revenue? Because it's the most wonderful time of the year? If we were to journey to Bethlehem, there would be plenty of room in the inn. If Jesus were born today would there be room for Him too? If Jesus were to come to Bethlehem now, would He be welcome or would he still have to sleep in a cave? If Jesus asked to come into your heart, would He be welcomed? Are you like the city of Bethlehem? Is there only a place for the Savior when it's politically correct or will you reinstate your relationship with Him and have room for Jesus all the time? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() © 2000 Michael's Hope Ministries.
