Michael's Thanksgiving

Michael's Thanksgiving Page

Pilgrims

Hi, my name is Michael. I'm eight years old. Welcome to my Thanksgiving page. I love Thanksgiving day. We eat lots of turkey and get stuffed. Dad doesn't have to go to his office like on other days, so we prepare our special meal as a family. Mom does most of the cooking, but Dad and I like to help. After dinner Dad and I watch a football game on tv. I like baseball a lot better, but baseball season is over by November. The fun of watching the football game is that I get to watch with my Daddy. He loves me very much and wants good things for me. I love him too.

When Mom is all finished with the kitchen work, we put all the thanksgiving decorations away and dig out the Christmas decorations. By the time we're through decorating, you'd think it was Christmas already.

Each Thanksgiving Mom and Dad buy me a Christmas ornament to put on the tree. This ornament is mine to keep forever and Mom says when I grow up and get married, I can take all the ornaments they have given me, to place on my very own tree. She always cries when she tells me this. Dad says it's because, no matter how big I get, I will always be her baby.

Dad and Mom say Thanksgiving is more than just eating turkey and watching football. It's about being thankful for all the wonderful things God, our Father has done for us. God is a great and loving person. Like my Daddy, He wants only good things for those who love Him. He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for us. If we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we can have eternal life and live forever with God.

< FONT COLOR=#804040> Here are some things I am thankful for:

I am thankful to God for my family. They love me so much and I love them. We have fun together.

I am thankful for the house God allowed us to have built.

I am thankful for our car.

I am thankful for my grandparents.

I am thankful for baseball.

I am thankful for the yummy food we had today. God even provided leftovers for tomorrow.

I could tell you about lots of other things I'm thankful for, but Mom says it's time to decorate the tree now.

Psalm 107:1 -"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good..."
